Optimizing the scope of testing is much more efficient than simply automating what’s in your regression test repository.
What do you do with a regression test repository of 34.000 test cases? Even if it’s highly automated, maintenance can be a hassle, and even simple approaches like risk-based testing take their time. Enter cognitive testing. Using a machine-learning approach and a phased approach this project was able to analyze both test cases and defect for redundancies and is now in the process of implementing the approach across the board.
